Where the magic happens

Control Room

The heart of the studio was built in 2018 on the advice of none other than Chris Lord-Alge ("You gotta turn that storage into a Control Room"). The acoustics and design planning come from renowned studio builder John Brandt.

With 45m2, the Control Room is generously designed and thanks to the large volume, all acoustic treatments could be integrated into the shell of the room.

The playback is very linear down to the deepest bass because the mains are soffit mounted into the front wall. An unparalleled listening experience!

Live Room

With 65m2, the Live Room is the largest room at Störsender. Here, mainly drums are recorded.

The acoustics are controlled and rather dry, but can be altered to a Bonham-esque (is that a word?) sound with room microphones in the adjacent lounge or the workshop.

Speaker lines from the Live Room to all other rooms allow, for example, joint playing without crosstalk from amps into the drum mics.

Amp Room

The old control room, repurposed into a recording space with very controlled acoustics. Also designed by John Brandt.

The room is mainly used for electric guitars, bass, and vocals. Thanks to speaker cables in the wall, the amp can stay in the control room while the speaker is recorded with mics on remote-controlled stands.

Lounge

The lounge is the perfect place for your morning coffee or to stylishly pass the time waiting for your turn to play. Equipped with TV, XBox 360, Apple TV, a DVD collection and a large refrigerator.
